Hey guys! I just booted up my pc and opened Google chrome, I noticed it looked different and when I checked the bar with the url in it, the link started with "launchpage[.]org"

It also does that in Firefox. I've tried reinstalling Chrome, I've run MalwareBytes and removed some random programs I didn't install.

Could anyone of you help me, I don't really know how to remove this one.

You might want to see what programs you have installed, and uninstall some crapware that may have installed, on the sly, from a website.

I've done that, still shows up.

  • 4 weeks later...

Based on what I've read, launchpage org is a browser hijacker or potentially unwanted program. It may get installed on your computer stealthily when you install other free applications from the Internet. This unwanted program may make changes on your browser shortcuts or HOSTS file and force you to visit its site whenever you start the affected web browsers.

To get rid of it, you can follow the steps below:

1. Remove any suspicious browser add-ons /extensions.

2. Remove Launchpage.org from browser shortcuts (Tell me how)

3. Reset browser settings to defaults

4. Check HOSTS file and delete any harmful content

5. Run other free anti-malware program like AdwCleaner to scan the PC again if the steps above don't work.

Good luck.
