What to Upgrade: CPU or GPU

I am looking to upgrade my gaming rig, but I don't know which to do first. 

Curret:

CPU- Amd fx 6300 4.5ghz

GPU- 1050 Gigabyte Gaming Edition 

 

After Upgrade:

 

CPU-  AMD Fx 8350

 

GPU- Evga 1060 ssc or Radeon 480

 

Which would be better to upgrade to? Is there a different component I should consider? Any other thoughts?

Well the FX series is out dated horribly.. you would be better upgrading your CPU/Motherboard/RAM to current gen which will yield significant improvements for you.

Neither upgrade offers much of a significant advantage.

I think you would be better off saving up until you can buy a newer CPU, as that CPU is quite outdated, however that would probably also call for a new motherboard which might set off a chain reaction of upgrades (due to incompatibilities).

If you're going to upgrade your GPU, I would wait to see what AMD releases later this year, especially as you are looking for a more budget GPU (which seems to be AMD's strong point). Even if you don't want AMD (idk why not but whatever works for you) it should (hopefully) bring down NVidia's prices. Your graphics card isn't that old though, so idk no you bought it if you were planning to upgrade.

Don't upgrade CPU. It's not amazingly better. And grab an RX 580 which is better than both 1060 and 480
