Soooooooo.... I'll be away from home for a month during the summer and my only laptop is an early-2015 Macbook. The one with one USB-C port and a headphone jack(hey at least it has one). I was wondering if overwatch would even run on it (boot camp). I doubt it... but I still decided to ask. Specs:

1.1 GHz Intel Core M, (think this one Turbo Boosts to 1.3 Ghz)

8GB DDR3-1600

Intel HD Graphics 5300

I know the answer is probably no. Just wondering.

Don't want to partition a part of the drive for boot camp and then not have it run.

overwatch is not a very heavy game, you likely would be more hamstrung by the CPU side of it

Look into it but it works like this  -  leave your PC on a sleep/hibernate and fully boot it up when you need it.  This saves you power but still allows access.  Can't promise even decent latency though so try it before you head off ;)

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Can you turn on PCs remotely? I'm not too sure about this method... My parents would freak out if my computer randomly turned on.

The Intel integrated graphics aren't too bad nowadays.. but Overwatch is still a pretty demanding game.

I say you probably can run it at around 20-30 fps with everything on low and the resolution at 720P or something. It will look horrible and still run crappy, but it will probably run.

EDIT: look here for benchmarks for this GPU for games (scroll down) https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-5300.125576.0.html

That GPU cannot handle most games. Most games get 10fps at 720p low. Some less demanding games do run. But I doubt Overwatch falls into that category.

Research it and try for yourself.  It does work

I wouldn't bother. It might barely get to 15 FPS or so at the bare minimum settings, but that's not going to be fun or practical in a competitive shooter. You'd have much better luck if you can find some older games or 2D indie games you're really into. I've sunk more hours into Rimworld, Terraria, Shovel Knight, and FTL than most full-priced releases I own.

Yeah remote desktop does not turn on remotely. I think I'll just stick to other games while I'm away I guess.

You cant turn it on but you can wake it up from sleeping as it still can take updates and stuff from the network.
