So right now I have a 2600k with asus z68 v pro and gtx 560 ti lol.  Anyways, I was gonna just replace the 560ti to 1060, but my system wont boot up, I don't know what happened exactly, I think I got thermal paste on the mobo.  Not sure if its the mother board or chip.  It power up but wont show boot screen and then shut down and power up, it goes through that cycle over and over until I power off the psu.  Maybe you guys can help me, if not...

I want to build a new system.  I have question about Ryzen overclocking, does it stay at the speed and voltage all the time when you manually overclock all cores to the speed you want or is it like intel where it under clock when you're at idle or just browsing internet.  Like my 2600k stay around 1.6 ghz and below 1.0 volt at idle and barely over that at browsing.  Because I looking into buying 1600, or maybe just get a used 6700k or 7700k.  Right now there a guy around me selling 6700k and Asus Hero alpha mobo for $360, I think that's a really good deal as long as it legit.  He said he delided it so, idk.  Thanks!

Yeah he said he delidded it.  You mean what do I use the pc for?  Well, just basic gaming like CSGO and LOL, I do want to play BF1 but 560 ti cant handle it even at low settings, that's why I just wanted to get 1060.  But I do use Handbrake and basic video editing, like really basic editing using windows movie maker.  It does annoyed me a bit how long it take to convert about 1GB file in hand brake, about 20 minutes, not sure the extra 2 cores and threads will help much.  Will it?

6700k and asus hero alpha is a great combo, from personal experience.  I find buying ANY delidded processor used is shady. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I always worry someone will try delidding a say i3-6100 and slap the 6700k heatspreader on it and sell it as a 6700k... Personally, I just switched to an r7, but almost went with the 1600 but tax returns came in and opted for a 1700.

Once overclocked - my Ryzen system stays at the set frequency however the voltage does go up and down as needed using an 'offset' voltage. Compared to stock I noticed that the idle power usage went from 65w to 80w - measured from the wall.

All in all I am not concerned with the increase in power consumption given that improvment in performance (3.1ghz up to 3.8ghz)

Thanks man, yeah I worried about the delidded part.  Unless maybe I can verified in cpu-z before buying.
