Hi Guys, I need help building my first pc.. I have a few questions and would appreciate any input!

I'm on a bit of a budget and to accommodate the graphics card I had to cut corners elsewhere.

Please go easy on me :D

Okay so the build is;

Phanteks P400s TG Case
Ryzen 5 1500x
MSI B350 Mortar AMD AM4 Motherboard
Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB
Ballistix Sport LT - 8GB DDR4 Ram (288 pin)
WD 1TB Blue
EVGA 500w 80+ B Power Supply.

So my first question is i can either have an SSD or a 1TB hard drive.. if I bought a 250GB SSD can I build it with only the SSD (temporarily for 2 months until I buy bigger SSD or Hard drive).

I just mainly want to know if all the parts are applicable.

The main use atm is for gaming and programming/coding.

Thanks!

grab a ssd now and then grab the hard drive after. make sure to get fast ram for ryzen 2666 or 2800 are good speeds. grab a different psu something from tier 1 or 2 from the PSU tier list (can be found in my sig or under power supplies)

Good luck, Have fun, Build PC, and have a Wii and PS2 as your only consoles.

Don't worry so much about RAM on a budget.  Get a 1600 rather that a 1500x as for an extra $30 you get 2 more cores and thus much more longevity

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Definitely get SSD first, much easier.

Don't get an R5 1500x, get either a 1400 or a 1600. I'd make sure to get at least 2666Hz RAM with Ryzen. Aim for 2800MHz+ though. From what I've seen, 3000/3200MHz is the best price/performance for RAM with Ryzen. Obviously if the price difference between 2666/2800MHz and 3000/3200MHz is significant wherever you're buying, get whichever is significantly cheaper.

Maybe don't spend so much on the case, that could let you get an HDD and SSD and/or the 1600 over the 1400/1500x and/or a better PSU. I definitely would not recommend using that PSU, it's a fairly low quality, budget unit.
