Upgrading Lenovo Thinkpad E450

Hi everyone!

 

So recently I bought a second-hand Lenovo Thinkpad E450 for around $240 for school. I'm pretty happy with it for now, but judging by the specs, I'm not sure how long ir will take for me to starting noticing its aging, so I decided I would upgrade RAM and throw in an SSD for performance. I've been searching around on my country, Guatemala, and things here tend to be kind of stupidly expensive (sometimes even double the original price), so I turned over to Amazon for help. I've got a budget of around $250 for upgrading it, but I'm not sure as of which models, speed, etc I should get or if it's even worth the shot; it's my first time upgrading a laptop.

 

I'll be using it mainly for Finale, Photoshop, Chrome browsing and perhaps double-booting Ubuntu on the future.

500 GB HDD

 

I was hoping to get some suggestions on parts out of you all. Any ideas?

I'd definitely get an SSD, but that seems pretty decent. It's better than my computer for sure.
