Hitman alternatives??

I've just finished playing the new Hitman. And I am speechless. It was an amazing experience. And it just left me wanting more.. Are there any similar games?

Also when is the next Hitman coming out? Is there even going to be a new Hitman??

Splinter Cell is the best "straight" alternative in my opinion.

Hmm seems nice... isn't really hitman-like atmosphere tho.. I will try it out tho..

There have been no announcements that I know of. I think it did fairly well and another entry in the series is not unlikely, but it just came out last year so I wouldn't expect anything for a while.

 

It depends on what you want out of a Hitman game. There are plenty of games that allow for stealth and assassination, but I can't think of any that do it the way Hitman does except for other Hitman games. You could try those, just bear in mind Absolution (the last one) is generally considered the worst of the series. Contracts and Blood Money are considered classics, but they're quite old.

I did play Absolution.. It was ok, but definitely not like other Hitman games.. Blood Money is my favorite..

Is there anything more sandbox? This games seems more like you have an objective and you go step by step as the game tells you. You don't have the freedom and infinite amount of choices and tactics..

I hesitate to suggest it because I'll freely admit it's not much like Hitman, but this comment makes me think of Deus Ex. They're more RPGs than anything else, and the stealth is really not much like Hitman, but they do offer a lot of freedom to approach objectives in different ways. The story missions are objective-based, but the level design is generally excellent and they're full of different hidden paths.

If what you want is another game where "stealth" means hiding in plain sight in densely crowded parties you weren't invited to and finding clever ways to manipulate intricate AI routines, there isn't much else that does that.
