Well, I am only looking at around £80 tops really, an i7 is around £100 and the Xeon £12 but that is a different socket which means a different motherboard and then that motherboard is £50 but is only very basic. As for the games only old ones really like metro last light and a handful of newer titles, for example, battlefield 4.

Then do yourself a favour and get at least the i5 760 and an additional 4 GB stick of RAM. Also if you can spend some additional money some time in the near future; used R9 280X, R9 380X, HD 7970 (all of them use the same Tahiti XT chip) are really coming down in price. You can get them for as little as 100€ on Ebay, which makes them a wicked bargain in terms of price to performance. Your pc has much more potential than the consoles you mentioned... Who knows, there might be a game you really like coming out some time in the near future and then you gonna be really pissed when your PC absolutely refuses to run it. Also if youd like to try running BF4 with only 4 GB of RAM prepare for bad times my friend, it will lag like hell.

Hi people of the internet, i was wondering if an i5 760 is much of an improvement over an i3 530, Thanks a lot

No I'd save up for a while and then build a new PC from scratch.

Then once you have enough money get a Pentium G4560, any B250 motherboard and 2 sticks of 4GB (= 8GB) DDR4 RAM.

I dont think a i5 760 is going to be a huge improvement since it does not have H-T while the i3 does and matches the core amount of the i5 (including HT and Physical cores) If a i7 then a huge improvement

Depends on your budget. If you plan to upgrade anytime in the near future obviously don't go for the i5. But the i5 760 still is a pretty decent chip, so if you plan to keep using your current platform I'd say go for the i5. It should be a noticeable upgrade in games at least.
