1. Why is there a poll?

2. What kind of performance difference are we talking about? It depends on the application but normally the difference can usually be pretty near 100%.

I think he is asking if we have a quad core or dual core. Not sure though. (B/c of course more cores are better depending on task)

Unsure what power supply to pick?

As someone who upgraded from a Sandy Bridge i3 (2 cores, 4T) to a xeon (4 cores, 8T), man it's a relief to be able to play games and watch twitch at the same time. I wouldn't give anyone a dual core these days for their computer, unless they're on a budget under $500

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

It's not a simple case of "quad core > dual core". It depends on the architecture of the CPUs you're looking at.

@DeadEyePsycho I don't know why I set up a poll. @yathis and @Stevoisboss I going to be gaming.

Games rn only utilize so many cores and speed matters the most in games. That is why a 4c 7700k at 5Ghz is king for gaming. Most games only really utilize around 4c.

for 1080p gaming get a i5 (4c/4t), for high fps gaming or pairing with a high end GPU get a i7 (4c/8t), get an i7 if you can afford it.

CPU performance NOT ONLY DEPENDS ON CORES, it depends on architecture and IPC
For example, a 2C 4T G4560 is faster than a 4C 8T FX CPU.
