Hard disk problem

So I logged in to my PC about to play some CS:GO and then this pops up.....

 

 

 

I feel concerned as I dont have the funds or time to buy a new HDD and back it up

I don't trust the windows back-up crap. Never used it, never going to. Also, did you hear any weard noises? What does HDtune say?

One, the HDD has always made weird noises since eons. like I could swear since I got it like 4 years ago. Also I dont have HDtune...Maybe link it for me?

also you can use Admin CMD : Wmic then diskdrive get status to see the health

Im just freaking out here. My parents would murder me if they find out the reason why my PC died was because of an HDD failure

window backup is very useful if you never used it you don't have the right to comment on its usefulness.

best you can do is back it up and get a cheap ssd.

Have seen friends use it, only stored random stuff in their "profile directories". I like to put stuff all over the place, where I can find it. But windows didn't include those kind of dirs in the past. So because of that, I think I can comment. (trying to recover lost data due to bad back-ups)

When your bike/car/wheelchair gets a flat tire because you've used it for a million miles... Will your parents still murder you because of this wear and tear? It just happens, and it's not really your fault I think. A 4 year old disk can be considered very old. Usually warranty only goes to 2 years or so. And well, heavy usage can break them even way before them 2 years.

Yeah I know that, the thing is my parents arent the brightest when it comes to tech. So they dont understand stuff like HDD failure. They only think It died cuz I installed a virus or something. Im not going to take blame like that

Sadly even that wont get them to budge, Im lucky I even got to convince my parents to let me pop off my side panel and put in a GPU

Call child protective services or whatever it's called in your area, and ask someone to sit in the same room while you give the bad news. (or start a fundraiser here on LTT, or ask for a drive donation)

ignore his extremism, yea that's your best bet. best of luck, try to find a second head HDD, for now look at craigslist or other local websites.

Idk man, Im hitting rock bottom right now. My PC is huge sentimental value to me and I dont want it to go. I need to get off the internet for a little while honestly

Idk, Right now im hearing my HDD die as I watch Windows try to help it out as much as it can.....FML

HDD's aren't that expensive . mine was €50 or 53 dollars depending on where you live . With my paperround i got  that in a 1,5 months.

Yeah, So far it seems like my Parents are chipping in to get the PC running again. Ill update you on how it goes with the machine if it makes it
