G'day all,

 

I want to find the best MINI-ITX motherboard's for gaming.

 

Anyone got ideas for me?

 

I have a few ideas but, lay them on me i want to know what you guys think

It all depends on if you're going to overclock and the ports you need (M.2 and such)

What socket, what IO do you want, will you overclock, what's your budget, AMD or Intel, do you need anything like Wifi or M.2?

Pick your flavour, both are Z270 in case you're picking kaby lake

from the top of my head i can name you at least 10 different socket types that almost all have ITX boards.

Overclocking yes, the rest is good but not high on the list

What CPU do you have? Different CPU architectures use different motherboard sockets.

well im thinking motherboard then choses the CPU, as i am trying to build a mini console killer. I am thinking 4K gaming as compact as possible

Budget? How much do you want to spend on your CPU and MOBO?

Well about $500 but all i need is a motherboard, CPU and RAM. Case will be built around parts and the idea is to make it flat as possibale, the idea is to use it as a stand for a monitor

Well, there are quite a few good mini-itx motherboards for Z270.

You could get a 7700K, Asus Z270 Strix mini-ITX (i would recommend this, but you can also choose a different one) and 16GB of 3000 or 3200Mhz RAM.

Option 2:

Ryzen 7 1700, Biostar X370GTN (http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=879)

and also 16GB RAM.

 

Both will be around 500$, it really depends on your workflow and the aesthetic.
