installing windows server 2016

I'm i able to install windows sever 2016 on a gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 with an i5 2500k 

because I'm have some issues with installation when i try to pick a hard drive, i get an error saying unable to use this disk your hardware may not be able to boot of this disk

How is the HDD set in the BIOS? ATA or AHCI?

in the bios there is options for IDE, RAID (XHD), and AHCI. it is currently on IDE

Change it to AHCI. Server 2016 Will not work with IDE mode

we couldn't install windows in the location you chose. please check your media drive

If its not the only drive connected. Then disconnect the other drives while installing.

You might have to clean the drive and create a new partition.
