Hello Guys,

I want to choose a new processor. I am a bit confused between AMD's 1500x and Intel's i5-6600. In the region where I live there is not much demand for AMD so I'm a bit confused on this thing. My usages on the CPU will be High Definition Gaming, Video Rendering, running software's like 3D Max, Auto Cad, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro and other software's. Can anyone please help me out which processor should I choose?

The R5 1500X is the better choice due to its extra threads, which will be beneficial in the applications that you've listed above.

Brand reputation isn't everything.

If they cost the same (take cost of motherboard into consideration as well), then get the 1500X.

Because its got two threads per core and can be overclocked.

Does it affect some of the gaming performance when I use GTX 1060 with it? Because saw it in some reviews that it was a bit slow then i5!

It's more or less on par. TBH, the R5's frametimes are more consistent in comparison to those of any i5. At this point, there's little reason to buy an i5.

So should I buy R5 1500x with GTX 1060 and motherboard B250?

I guess so. A RX 480 performs more or less the same as a GTX 1060 so get the cheapest one between the two of them.

Which Core i5 do you use?
