So I currently have all the parts for my build, except windows. I know a lot of people hate Windows 10 but I have chosen to go with it. I just wanted to know if i would need an activation key at some point. Like is there some sort of trial that when it ends, i need to put in an activation key? Or does the windows ISO last forever. I have the Windows 10 ISO file on a USB.

You dont need a activation key, but some features are locked down and changing wallpaper, i have it for free but it turns into a nagware.

There is a water mark in the bottom right hand corner, but aside from that, nothing is locked down or different from proper win 10 (You can still change wallpaper, just right click on an image).

Yeah but the customization tab is locked when the trial runs out because i dont want to pay for some shit like windows! i would prefer to use linux all the time but i cant since i dont want to mess with wine and run some windows games

Saving $150 from not buying a retail key (Or $50 for a cheap OEM from kinguin), but not be able to change a few basic things about your lock screen or desktop isnt a big issue for me, I couldn't care less.

During Windows installation, you can click "later" when it asks for activation key, like he said some features will be disabled like Windows personalise and watermark like this...

Well it's on you to insert the product key or not....
