What do you plan to do.At that price point i'll just  recommending studio monitors.

I plan on using it to listen to music and as a good monitor for reference sound, but mainly for listening to some great accurate sound.

What types of music do you listen to?

Do you game?

Do you like bass?

How important is isolation from outside sound?

Are you looking for something for casual listening or critical listening?

What headphones/speakers/earbuds/whatever do you use right now, what do you like or dislike about them?

500$ just for the headphones. I'm not sure what it would cost to get a DAC that would power a 500$ pair of headphones so I'm unsure of the range for the DAC.

I think you're confusing dac with amp, both of which are needed.

Anything past the M50X are pretty much excessive.Studio monitors are defnitley the most acurate

Sorry I'm not knowledgeable in the Audio side of hardware. Could you please explain?

DAC is what turns the 1s and 0s that digital data is into a variable analog signal for your headphones, and an amp is what makes it loud enough to hear.

You should be fine with these.

I currently have a pair of Sennheiser PC 360's. How do the PC 360's compare to the Monoprice's, I bought them at similar prices so I'm curious. Also they are the same impedance how does impedance contribute to sound quality?

It also seems that the Monoprice's are significantly heavier than my PC 360's (500g vs 300g), does this contribute to any fatigue? I can currently wear my PC 360's for a very long time.

I beg to differ as well the m50x's sounds almost muddy and to put simply, bad, when compared with other headphones in roughly the same price range i.e dt770. I can say this since I've listened to some as well and they lack the details and the sound to be called "studio monitor" or "the benchmark for $150 price range headphones", seeing these in the audio community feels kinda bad.

Just to be clear when I refer to studio Monitors I refer to speakers like the KRK Rokkits

Ok, but why is anything past m50x excessive.

And sure, studio monitors might be the most frequency response accurate, but not the most musically accurate

Kek.

Maybe something like the DT1770 or 1990? They are not really fun sounding (imo) but accurate iirc.

There is more to sound than just frequency response.
