I don't remember everything exactly but I believe it was as follows:

Q6600

2GB ddr2 667

9500gt

some intel motherboard with no overclocking.

I bought this from a best buy in like 2008 or something. I don't remember exactly. At that time building a computer was something I thought I could never do.

It was fine for several years but as I started to play pc games it just wasn't cutting it. So I decided to do some upgrades. In retrospect I probably would have done things differently but whatever. So... I decided to upgrade my video card to a gtx 460. That required a power supply upgrade as well. Then I started to do a little reading and wanted to overclock my cpu but my motherboard bios was locked. So I upgraded the motherboard and at this time it was late in the game for lga775. There were not many choices on Newegg so I went with asus p5g41 something or other and did a mild overclock to 3 ghz. That upgrade also required me to pick up new memory. 8gb of 1333 ddr3. Which in turn meant I needed a 64bit os.

So that is the specs of my old rig in its two states.
