booting on new drive

hey guys i am planning on getting an m.2 ssd to go along with my hdd in my laptop. i wanted to put windows on the ssd, but i don't know how to transfer just windows to the ssd and keep my data on my hdd.

you could clone it and then delete the files... or fresh install on m.2 and delete windows files from hdd

How big is the SSD vs your current storage usage on your HDD?

the hdd is 1 tb and the ssd 120ish

the hdd has 500gb used

I'd personally do a freh install of windows onto the ssd with the hdd plugged out, so that everything is fresh.

Fresh install on SSD and then transfer data from HDD to it. All the programs will need reinstalling and saved games files will have to be transfered.. once you get everything on need on the ssd, format the hdd. You'll probably need a third drive to store everything that can fit on ssd (movies etc)
