Routers for Nvidia Shield

Well, I bought a shield the other day, and my router isn't able to handle it .

 

I have Verizon Fios and I am looking for a new router that will be able to handle the bandwidth. Do I have to get the upgraded one from verizon or can I purchase one?

I have an ASUS RT-N66R (same as RT-N66U) and it's great for things like Shield. Around $150 for the US currently.

You should be able to buy one, imo this router is well worth the price, it's almost as good as plugging in an ethernet cord

Linus once mentioned that you really need a high-end router for streaming to Shield. I think he recommended the ASUS routers.

I'm planning on getting a 780 TI and a nvidia shield, I currently have a linksys EA6500
which i know is a decently high end router, anyone have any guesses on the performance

it would have in terms of game stream?
