So I had this GTX 1060 6gb from gigabyte for a while, alongside with it an i5 6400 cpu, 8gb of DDR4 ram on a B150M PRO-VDH motherboard. At first it had no problem, it seemed, but after a while, it got a little bit... weird, i'd say. Do keep in mind the specs i've listed were bought newly and assembled together in the same day.

Certain games wouldn't perform very well, such as Crysis 3, GTA 5, mirror's edge catalyst, sometimes even Overwatch would have its episode where the frames would just straight up die or the graphics / textures would turn black (only when overclocked for OW). These, and some other games, would crash a lot if overclocking was applied with the message such as "DX11 device removed" "graphics adapter removed" etc. But even when overclocking wasn't applied, games like Crysis 3, GTA 5, mirror's edge catalyst would constantly stutter frames and sometimes crash. The games GTA 5 and mirror's edge catalyst would run smoothly for a couple of minutes and then it would start to stutter, freeze, constantly dropping frames, making the games fairly unplayable. I don't play many games, so I don't really have lots of games to use as example, though it seemed that For Honor, Witcher 3, Doom, Dark souls 3 showed no issue even when overclocked, which is a bit bizarre... Some games work, while other don't.

When I first did overclocking on this gpu it was quite tame, I only overclocked about half of what the card could actually manage, i didn't even play with the voltage settings then, so i feel as though my overclocking didn't hinder my graphics card.

I played around with the settings in the power usage, nvidia control panel, and even tried to underclock the GPU to see if the problem was it's stock overclocked settings, since this is meant to be a "OC edition" card. None of these options worked, at this point I wasn't surprised, even when trying to monitor temps, power usage, clock speeds nothing seemed odd.

I'm also not suspecting my CPU since that seems to have quite the low temps while gaming.

So the only answer I have right now is that the card is defective in some manner, thought I might as well try to write a post to see if anyone has ever experience something of the sort or get some guidance on the issue.
