stress test

Can somebody tell me a CPU based stress test that tells me information like temperature.

I will second the use of aida64. Yes, you should close all your apps and monitor your stats (temps AND voltages) until your confident of the baseline your running and then you can leave it for a few hours.

If it helps I try to run mine at night so that I can run it for like 12-14 hours uninterrupted. This is a good measure of real world stability imo.

I'm afraid i am not the kind of person to let their PC stay on over night i'm very paranoid.

Are you testing out an overclock? I assume so, you could if you chose disconnect the internet for running overnight to reduce some risk in that way. Otherwise a few hours monitored through the day should be fine.
