I really don't see any reason to buy 3733 MHz ram, as it's a complete waste...

Matters because memory clock speed is directly linked to clock speed of the infinity fabric so faster ram makes a very big difference in games. Jumping from 2133 MHz to 2933 can make as much as a 10% difference.

Faster RAM can make a good difference in many simulations that require physics like BF, KSP, etc. I would vote for the 3000MHz, but can you find a 16GB that's a bit faster? And will you be using a Z-board or Ryzen?
