Premier Pro Mercury Playback

I have a Asus laptop with a i7-6700HQ and a GTX 960M. I have been using Permier Pro CC 2017 on it for some time now and I have been missing the use of the mercury playback from the graphics card. I can only run the software only mercury playback. I have tried adding the text file to the adobe folder. The weird part of this is that After Effects see this GPU and I can use it if I check the use unsoported card. My normal enditing rig is a desktop with a quadro so I am able to use the mercury playback with no weird work around. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful.
