Is it better to internal or external hdd for a plex server?

Hi,

Which is better external or internal hdd for storing your plex library?

  

Like speeds and lag issues etc.

there is a risk in accidentally knocking the cable out.

speeds are not bad with USB3. I rotate backup drives on USB and I find they are not hurt by the USB bus.

I did have one USB to sata adapter that could not work with linux software raid.

I mean theoretically speaking internal is better but it would probably make almost no difference. It's just video playback (or transcoding, which depends on ur CPU).
