It depends on the game, so what happens in a CPU bottle neck is when the faster the frames are drawn on screen the rest of the game also has to keep up, things like physics, ai etc have to run faster too, if it cant keep up the FPS only goes as high as the game can go.

If you can get 70fps on poor quality (physics, ai etc are res independent) you should get a similar FPS but with a higher res and better visual quality.

as you can see the difference in performance of the 750ti and your old card is staggering

Now a word of caution, for more demanding games or games that depend on single thread performance only then you will have quite a noticeable bottleneck unfortunately.

Ok thanks

Hello, I was thinking about upgrading my gpu but im not sure if i will bottleneck. At the moment I am rocking a amd a8 5600k 3.60GHZ and the graphics card is a radeon hd 7750 but i just cant run any modern games so my question is if i upgrade to a 750ti will the amd a8 5600k bottleneck it and also will i notice any performance increase

the a85600k single thread performance is on par with a Intel Core 2 Duo E7200. What games are you planning to play? Monitor res, refresh rate?

Then yeah you should see a considerable boost in visual quality, and with a 60hz monitor you dont really need to hit more than 60fps
