My "up to date" OP3T does not have Android Nougat.

So I got my brand new OnePlus 3T yesterday and in my surprise it does not have Android Nougat installed. It runs on 6.0.1. From what I can tell it's a November phone so it makes sense, but when I try to search for updates it says there aren't any. What is going on, anyone knows? Shouldn't it automatically update to Nougat? Does it have to do with where I live?

Where did you purchase it from?

From the OnePlus site. Don't know where it came from though. I think Poland (that's what the DHL guy told me).

I'd try contacting OP for this, as they know their hardware. Some grey market or Chinese units come with custom firmware and can't be updated iirc

idk

I don't think that's the case, I mean I did not order from Gearbest or something. But to be sure, can I find out myself?

Sometimes updates are rolled out in batches, not all devices are going to get them at the same time. Still, the best move is probably trying to contact OP directly for confirmation - if anyone has control over which updates you get it's them.

you can see which firmware version you have in settings->about this device, however I don't know which version it's supposed to be.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

How do I check this. Pardon me, but I'm a total noob in smartphones and Android. It's the first time i'm actually spending time and money on that.

I contacted them via live chat, waiting for reply. Gonna submit a ticket if live chat takes too much time.

You can install the update manually. Download it from downloads.oneplus.net and flash it in recovery. It is a possibility, that the update hasn't been released in your region for some reason. Also the most likely scenario.
