Hi.

Sorry if i broke some rules posting a request like this, this is my first time posting in these forums and i dont know where else to go, nobody seems to understand my problem.

My gpu fan will oscillate.  No, it is not coil whine, after doing some testing I am almost 100% sure it is the fan.  It sounds like a "woo woo woo"  (please dont laugh im dead serious) and it is very high pitched so it cuts right through my headset and makes it next to impossible to concentrate when playing any games.

The only temporary solution i found is to manually set the fan speed to a fixed speed, like 40%.  Fan curves do not help, only a consistent speed.

The card is brand new, 2 months old and has never been overclocked.  I don't think i can return it since I ordered this online and quite frankly i dont want to go through the trouble of returning it.

Any possible solutions are greatly appreciated.  Card is Evga 1060 and drivers are updated.  From the looks of it, It seems like this is the standard card and not some fancy model.  I would hope to run games without having to go into m si afterburner and set the fan speed up every time I play something.

Thank you for reading

Maybe there's an imperfection on the fan blade? Like a piece left over from molding?

I don't know if the EVGA cards have 'hot swappable' fans, but it's worth taking a look.

But thats the thing.  There does not appear to be anything inherently wrong with the card. Temps are fine, fans look and spin fine, nothing appears off in the construction of the card.

Did i just get super unlucky and got the worlds first undiagnosable gpu?  Lmao

well, if there's nothing on the fan props that could  cause vibrations, it can only be the bearing. You got unlucky and got a bad bearing in one of your fans. Maybe replace the cooler with an arctic accelero or something?
