Weird noise from computer?

NunoLava1998

My computer recently for around 1-2 minutes made a weird noise. It was pretty much a very low-volume electrical humming sound. I saw that it could be something with the power supply (Hey, I've got a power supply that's pretty bad. It runs fine tho). What is it?

Specs:

CPU: i3 4160 (Haswell, LGA 1150) with stock cooler.

RAM: Single-Channel 8GB RAM (1x8GB) at 1596MHz from Kingston

Motherboard: Gigabyte H81M-S1 rev2.1 (Haswell, LGA1150)

Monitor: Flatron L192WS

GPU: Nvidia GTX 950, model made by GIGABYTE

HDD: 931 GiB/0.909TiB/1000GB/1TB Western Digital WDC WD10EAVS-00D7B1. Uses SATA.

SSD: None

Try to unplug all fans except the critical ones and turn the system on.

Dying fans can make all kinds of noises too.

Alternatively, stop the fans one by one by holding the blades. I don't recommend this method though, it's not good for the fans to be held still.

Its more than likely coil whine; not much you can do about it. What PSU do you have?

Oh yea, that's a thing too.

Lucky enough to never have encountered it myself.

It sounds nothing like coil whine.

It could be PSU or GPU.

I'll download EasyTune which lets you set the speed of your fans and i'll see if it is the fan.

EDIT:

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
