laptop for work

my dad recently asked me for help finding a laptop that he can use for accounting purposes and word processing he has set a price limit of $500 Canadian and the location for buying the laptop is the lower mainland in BC windows 7 or 10 preferred any recommendations would be great because there are a lot of different choices out there 

 

edit he requested the laptop be 15 inches

what software does he use? That aside any i3,i5,i7 will do.

I just did a quick search on BestBuy and couldn't find anything locally. The only stuff I found that would fit the bill were refurbished Dell Latitudes, HP ProBooks, and Lenovo ThinkPads. Not sure if he'll be into that since they would be shipped to him. It's sort of a odd time to be buying a laptop which is why there isn't much in terms of good deals.

couple of dollars over budget but you get a 15.4", full hd, i3 6100U laptop for around $500 Canadian.

Now if you are a student and have a student email, you can get this from the Microsoft Store. It's 13", not 15 but it's a signature edition so no bloatware and it's a 2 in 1, so has a tablet mode.
