My current build plan is this:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8YVCkT

but there is an error with the compatibility of the G4560 and the mobo. The error reads:

"Some Intel H110 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."

Will I need to use a different motherboard/processor, and if so what do you recommend?

Seems your CPU is too new for the motherboard, so if you can't update bios with it, you'll need a CPU that is supported to do it.

Happened to me with an AMD build, so I sendt it back for an Intel instead. if you know someone who has one, you can maybe borrow it if you're lucky

Sorry for the few off Capital letters in my posts, it does it on its own when I Write in English, since my OS is in another Language. It's annoying.

ALL Intel H110 chipset motherboards WILL need a BIOS update prior to using Kaby Lake-S CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions.

basically you'll need a Skylake CPU to flash the BIOS before you can use your Kabylake.

I'm assuming the Pentium is the problem.  but I know that it is compatible....

I did happen to find more information on Lake-s CPUs: http://www.pcgamer.com/intels-kaby-lake-everything-you-need-to-know/

"If you have a Z170 board and are considering a Kaby Lake upgrade, be sure to check for new BIOS/firmware as that can make a big difference."

"Along with the desktop CPUs come new chipsets, the Z270, H270, B250, Q270, and Q250. The good news is that early rumors of Kaby Lake requiring the new chipsets proved incorrect, so potentially you could upgrade from Skylake to Kaby Lake with a simple BIOS update on the motherboard."

I would assume it is the Pentium and would probably look into replacing whichever would be cheaper.

If you haven't actually bought the parts yet, the easiest way to resolve it is to simply not buy the Board. Choose a different one instead.

You stick a Skylake CPU in the motherboard, update the BIOS, then take the Skylake out and stick in the Kabylake CPU.

It's this ^

If you don't have the means to flash the mobo yourself, or the retailer that you're buying from can't tell you what BIOS it ships with then you won't be able to pass POST or even get into the BIOS to update it without a 6th series CPU. So unless you have a friend that would help you out, or you know someone that owns a PC business or whatever and can help you out with putting a CPU in and updating the BIOS for you, then there's no point in buying that mobo. You'll need a 2 series board as they support 7th gen CPUs right out of the box.

Just get the cheapest Skylake CPU (It's like $40) and update the bios, then return it or keep it for a friend or for troubleshooting older mobos.

older skylake motherboards from October 2016 and earlier won't have the bios needed for kabylake CPUs, so you'll need to update the bios with a skylake CPU before using it. shouldn't have an issue since it's almost 6 months after the kabylake BIOSes have been released, just contact store or website seller and ask them if the mobo's bios supports kabylake or if the manufacture date is November 2016 or newer.
