NVidia CP Color settings won't apply in game

XCalinX

Hey guys,

I just upgraded to the new Creators Update for Windows 10 but I have a problem. I noticed that the colors I set in the nVidia CP won't save in game. Sometimes, after exiting the game, they go back to how I set them, sometimes the contrast option is at 50% instead of 100% which is where I like to keep it. I reinstalled my drivers several times and even uninstalled them with DDU. I'm going nuts, this is the second issue I have to deal with since upgrading to the Creators Update!

Can anyone help?

Thanks

I've been having this problem on HDMI and I don't have the Creator's Update installed. Do you use HDMI?

Maybe you can go back to the Anniversary update and see if it's still having the problem? That'll make sure its a problem with WCU, not a recent driver problem or something.

Might have something to do with color management profiles in win 10 settings

Hi, yes. I downloaded a program called CPKeeper, you need to save your settings while you're at the desktop and you have the settings set the way you want in the nvidia cp, then load them and check "lock profiles" (I believe that's how its called, when I get home I will check it again and give you a more detailed guide if you haven't figured it out) and click apply.

Good news! I found the fix! You don't need that program. The reason for this problem has to do with the game bar in the Windows 10 creators update.

How to fix:

1. Type "settings" in your windows search.

2. Click gaming tab.

3. Make sure to uncheck the option that reads along the lines of "show game bar when playing games in full screen verified by Microsoft"

4. I also turned off other features such as game mode, game DVR, etc. (Not sure if this is necessary but I did it just in case.)

5. Now it should work and NVCP will not revert your settings.

Well I tried that before and it didn't work, but that program worked.

Hmm that's weird. It worked for me when I did that. But anyways you found a solution nonetheless.
