I got myself a new motherboard (Gigabite GA-B250M-D2V) but turns out my case is ancient and the cables between the motherboard and the case dont match. Is there a standard for those cables in more modern cases ? It probably sounds like a easy thing to google but i am either using bad wording or wrong names and i cant seem to really find anything useful.

Yes modern cases have a standard for the front panel connectors, more likely that not your case does follow it but uses a proprietary connector for it. If you're really creative you could check where they lead, snip em off and solder them on or see if you can get some connectors off an old case and solder or tape them together.

This is the main cable, power led, power switch etc... ( The power wires are yellowish white and green, i marked them on the picture. )

This is the connector on the motherboard. I assume those have to go to there. ( See picture of motherboard )

Is that the normal connector on the motherboard for modern cases ? If not, how do i tell which case has which cables ? The USB and audio cables fit nicely.

That's the right one, the connector needs to go on the left of the Mobo pic you showed with the non-pinhole on the connector on the top right, that should be the only way it can go in, it's designed that way ;)

Somewhere in your motherboard manual should be a page that looks a little like this:

(That's for my motherboard, make sure you find the one specific to yours.)

The connectors for power, reset, HDD LEDs, and so forth that plug into that big block are mostly tiny little two-pin black pieces, and I don't think they have changed in ages. The bigger ones that you posted photos of, the ones with two rows of 5 holes, are for audio and USB 2.0 that @mikat showed above, and those plug in elsewhere on the motherboard (usually somewhere along the bottom edge).

Yes the proper place for the connectors are shown on the motherboard just under the pins and they match with the manual. I got the audio and USB ones in without problem.

If you look at the pictures i posted before you can see that i marked where the power switch cables and pins are. If I connect the cable like that the pins would not match up with their correct wire counterpart. ( I followed the wire back to the power button and it even had a label ).

I just want a case fast so i can get the system up and running, The case that is in store near me seems like a nice option.

Are there any downsides to this case beacuse it's pretty cheap and comes with a 120mm fan and a PSU,

( This is the store that sells it, its in Estonian )

Sorry if i sounded a bit demanding, I had trouble wording the problem.
