edited the pcpart url you gave. I chose the 1800x so it can give you the most performance if you considered going into editing full time if you want to maximize your budget you could also go for the 1080ti but if you aren't planning on pushing for 4k the 1080 would do at 1440p and 1080p.

Why 1800x tho? 1700 OCs as well for 2/3 the price plus in gaming ram speed makes a bigger difference.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I chose the 1800x so it can give you the most performance if you considered going into editing full time. This is my answer but if I'm wrong feel free to change anything that i recommended. I'm not a pro like linus or any pc builders/reviewers out there so I may picked parts that aren't worth their price so constructive criticism are encouraged.

1800x doesn't really overclock much better than the 1700, maybe on average it OCs 50 MHz better or a little over 1%. Honestly, IMO that's not worth the extra money :).

Its been generally agreed on that the 1800x is not worth it at all. The 1700 is pretty much the one that is worth it. You could make an argument for the 1700x though I personally don't think it's worth it. The more you know :)

Well if that's the case then the 1700 would be to go for :). I haven't watched videos  about the updates regarding on overclock so thanks for letting me know. I am also planning on upgrading my CPU so this information is very helpful.
