Hey guys I have my cpu currently at 1.32v 4.8ghz

i have used liquid metal I top of the ihs(not deluded) and have a 110h liquid cooler

temps never go over 65

can i go over the "1.35v" for everyday use such as gaming ?

Is 1.4v safe ?

I really wanna try and hit 5ghz stable

but don't want me cpu to explode of die on me

or should I just leave it as it is ?

A lot of games are currently pushing my cpu at 100 percent sometimes

will the extra 200 MHz on the cpu help or not that much to warrent the risk

I'd say leave it at 1.32 4.8GHz. It's a good voltage/clock speed ratio and it's safe for Haswell chips. I've got my 6700K @4,7 @1,376V but from what I've read, Haswell chips were more voltage-sensitive.

Is a 7700k/6700k much better for gaming ?

Nah, not really. You're looking at around 10% performance improvement here so if you're looking for something more powerful to pair with your 980Tis in SLI - I'd say get something with more cores. X299 is rumoured to launch in June.

Or get Ryzen if its gaming performance satisfies you and you're better off with higher minimum framerates instead of higher average ones. If an R7-based rig is set up properly, it can match an i7 in terms of performance in games, especially if you're at 1440p/4K ^_^

How do I do this ?

Doesnt the base clock overclock memory and gpus at the same time tho ?

What should I start with ?

Ideally as long as it's not doing 80C+ full load you can try higher with volts.

Baby steps like 1.375V might be nice to try too.

Generally 1.35V is nice to daily with.

Just go to like 102 or 103, above that my RoG board didn't like it

Haven't messed around with mine as this board has a million options and the auto oc function worked quite well. 4.8 at 1.37. Gonna delid it. Sit at high 40's, low 50's while gaming. Think I turned the voltage down to 1.30 or 1.35, I don't mind eating temps but I also keep the fan speed low.
