Weird problem I've never come across

Usually this problem is your search bar becomes frozen and you just need to restart your "explorer.exe" process on task manager. But in my case everything works except when I try to type something to search, after the first letter I type it just crashes. I have tried the "SFC/SCANNOW" and it came out with no Integrity Violations".... So I have no idea what to do and I would really hate to have to re-install all my OS just for this. PLEASE any tips would be greatly appreciated.

No, this is not normal.

The start menu is supposed to work fine and so is explorer.

supposed to doesn't mean that's how its going to. I have had my start menu take a good 3-4 seconds to option, and the issue above only fixed by a reset.

I have not had any issue with the start menu or windows explorer.

That's because I take proper care of my OS and don't do dumb things like using the upgrade process, migrating, cloning, etc.

Probably something you're doing wrong with your drivers.

Either way, your post is completely irrelevant to the topic here.

"start menu has been broken for a while. " is not what this issue is nor is it a solution.

Prior to my current build (less than a week ago), I ran a 990FX chipset - first with a Phenom II 1090T and then with an FX-8370.  I never had any issues with the start menu or with USB 3.

I'm betting you probably upgraded to Windows 10 from a previous version of Windows.  That's typically where most people's problems come from.  A fresh install is always the best option, when moving from one version of Windows to another.

I always fresh install, right now my usb 3.0 ports randomly disconnect from time to time, drivers are all update to date.

This is a week old pc and I've had to re-install the OS twice now, and both times were fresh. Maybe the third time is the charm

Did you both install the chipset drivers for your motherboard?  Many people just accept what Windows installs, and don't consider installing the original drivers.

I did and this is only happening with only one account on the PC, I've created 2 other accounts and the search is fine.

that look fun... )_) when did that started?

Soon after I installed my OS, no idea why tho. All i did was uninstall few junk apps and disable the couple 3-4k privacy settings on OS 10. None of which affected my other user

accounts. Indeed its fun.
