Hey everyone,

If you have seen my previous thread, you know that I was gonna save up all my money to really upgrade the PC. But now that I think about it, Im not sure if im gonna get $100 off on my CPU or GPU for Black Friday and might just be $20 or $30 instead. I'm also having a real hard time waiting and not seeing very many Black November deals going on for the video cards i want.

So, with exactly $394 (I can stretch this $10 or 20 more), should I buy a R9 290 now and wait for my next paycheck to get a new cpu and mobo? Would the bottleneck be really bad as in no performance increase when replacing my 550 ti with the 290 because of my CPU?

Also, if you can help me find great deals for the R9 290, that would be much appreciated. Thanks for all who read :D

Resolution: 1600x900 planning on getting 1 or 2 more monitors.

System, specs in sig.

There would be quite the bottleneck for the 290.

For one, wait.

Second, consider upgrading your cpu as well as your gpu.

Wait until R9-290 get refrence coolers then buy it.

Any rumors when the reference coolers will come out? Im starting to run out patience >.<

An i3 wont really bottle neck it but I would get the 290 anyway's and save until you could afford a new CPU and motherboard.

WoodenMaker says it will bottleneck pretty badly so if you can provide a source that would be great.

Does it really matter if it's bottle necked for a couple weeks?

End of month, thats what im waiting for.

Just read some more review for the r9 290 on its temp and noise levels along with power consumption. I think i can actually deal with it and get a water block in the future. For the next paycheck will go straight to a new CPU and mobo.

I mean non refrence allthough people seem too make the cooler seem worse than it actually is (it's still bad)

It's terrible, but it seems like we won't come to an agreement on that so no point in trying.
