Hello,im new to this forum and i need help for old hardware, i have a compaq presario 4016 (not hp compaq) and the motherboard kind of posts ,it starts to post but there are garbage letters all over the screen,and i want to know what is the problem, i cleaned the mobo and case, and i have a psu question that it has a 6 pin power connector for cpu ( not gpu neither my psu has 6 pin power for cpu, and my psu has a solid 24 pin power and the mobo needs 20 pin so can i plug the 4 pin cpu power to  6 pin cpu power and 24 pin mobo power to 20 pin power (the psu is out of a dell, a ac bel psu)

I have no idea what computer that is... If a photo of the motherboard or front of the case is possible please post it. 

I do recognize the PSU though. Had one lying around from an old computer I scrapped.

this is either a compaq presario 4016/4026

it has a intel Pentium 3 450 mhz and uses 6 pin for cpu power,im pretty sure that's a asus board,the 4 pin fits,but im not sure if it's going to work since the psu was out of a dell pc i use that has issues,all 24 pins are solid but the first 20 fit and i doubt that the 24 pin would be a problem since the first 20 pins are electronically the same,only having doubts about the 6 pin
