Hey guys it's my first post here on the LTT forums and I hope to be posting a lot more things here on the forums. So last year I was hoping on livestreaming and I have my Auna MIC-900 USB Cardioid Studio Condenser Microphone and HyperX Cloud Revolver, however unfortunately my processor was not up to the task so i've now ordered myself the AMD Ryzen 1700X. However, when im on Discord or Skype or anything both microphones pick up a lot of my keyboards sound which is the Razer Blackwidow 2014 Ultimate which is pretty loud. So I was wondering if there is anything I could do whether that be configuring settings or buying something so the my microphone cancels out all or most of outside sounds like my keyboard or mouse clicks.

Since it's a USB mic your options are somewhat limited.

One easy option would be to use ´push-to-talk´. That way you can stop typing as your speaking.

Another option would be to play around with the volume level in Windows. Try lowering the microphone lever and move the microphone a bit closer to you mouth.

The more expensive option would be to make the keyboard quieter.

That can be done by installing some O-ring so the keys aren't bottoming out.

The razer keys are still going to be super loud compared to membrane or quieter mx-keys. The best thing would be to move the mic as close to your mouth as possible. But if you are ever talking AND using the keyboard at the same time, it will still most likely pick up the clicking.

I'll take all of your ideas into consideration and will try and see what I can do :D also I have just spent like £700 on new parts so won't have money for PC components until next month but can any of you recommend a good microphone for maybe £100 if that's possible or do you think the one I have now is fine??

I'd just look into a "streaming" keyboard that you use only when streaming or recording. Software can help lower the sounds but I also had a Razer keyboard (still do, on my media server) but I had to change to a quieter keyboard as to not have the clicks get picked up through the microphone.

I will have to repeat myself again.
Condenser microphones are bad choice if you want to isolate background noise period. Getting some dynamic microphone will reduce pick up of the background noise significantly, however you will have to trade off the practicality of putting it further away from you. Also you'll have to use them closely to your mouth. You would face the same issue even if you buy $8000 Neumann condenser microphone.

I've never used one of these but it should fit the bill.
