GTX 750 Ti/ G4400 question

Recently picked up a gtx 750 ti for 50$, and lent it to my friend so he could play games like overwatch with me.

He's running a system with a G4400 and 4gbs of ddr4 and is having issues.

The card worked perfectly fine when I tested it at my place (with my computer).

He's saying his FPS dips are pretty extreme, even in low settings. which is quite odd. Also after installing the new card, he computer seems to lag as well. (Even in desktop/web browsing)

He has the newest drivers, could the RAM/CPU be bottlenecking THAT bad?

Get him to run MSI afterburner and keep an eye on the stats.

Use RivaTuner overlay (while playing overwatch) to keep the FPS, CPU, RAM and GPU usage on screen and try to find the bottleneck that way.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

The G4400 is not the problem.  It can run Overwatch at 1080p/50fps on high settings when paired with a GTX 750 Ti...and 8GB of memory.  My guess is that the memory is the issue.  4GB is usually ok for regular desktop tasks, but struggles with gaming.  I would recommend getting another 4GB ram stick to make that 8GB of ram in his system.  You can buy a 4GB DDR4 module for around $30.

Having said that, his computer should not be lagging when doing normal things, as I said earlier.  That could be his hard drive going bad, or otherwise some sort of software issue.
