ESD version?!?!

Go to solution Solved by TetraSky,

If you have a key for it, you can just download the ISO of Windows 10

https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

There are ways to convert that ESD to ISO, but wherever you bought that from probably didn't bother. I'm assuming you bought this on ebay or something? No way you got a disc with a single ESD file on it from a physical store.

So, I recently purchased a copy of Windows 10 Home, which I though would be a regular copy, but turned out to be an ESD version. As I do not have the slightest clue as to what an ESD version is, I am afraid I might have done something incredibly stupid. (It's non refundable apparently) I haven't used the code or url they gave me to get the copy of Windows just in case. Please help me asap!

Thx!

This is all I can find:

So as far as I can tell it's some kind of proprietary Microsoft file stuff thing. According to my extended research of 10 seconds on DuckDuckGo there is software availible to convert it to a regular ISO. Not going to discuss that here as mods will start crying about piracy.

what does that mean for installing Windows though? What steps would I have to take to get it onto my pc? And does it have support from Microsoft unlike the OEM versions?
