Test the strip with a 9V battery or wire together a couple 6V's in series. They only work one way and they need enough voltage to light up at all.

Are you sure the positive and negative leads are connected properly? Have you tried switching the wires?

If you have and it's still not working, then make sure you have a molex that is currently supplying 12V of power and make sure it's working at the moment (connect a fan or something) and then try connect the wires to the +12V and -12V of the molex and then try with the wires wired the other way around, if it's not working then I'd say your LED strip is dead. Maybe the LED strip cable is damaged...I don't know.
