Difference Between Windows Server 2012 Standard And Windows Server R2?

Hey guys i am building a server for a customer and i was wondering he asked for Windows Server R2 but i accidentally bought the standard key and it does not work with R2, Will he mind if i only installed the standard?

SSD: Kingston HyperX Savage 240GB

HDD: 3TB Toshiba 7200RPM

Mouse: Razer Deathadder Elite
