Hi,

I've been thinking of editing some textures but have noticed that high quality textures are saved in the .dds format, which I have not been able to open in photoshop.

Does anyone know of a program that can edit these or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

When I use to map in cs, mini maps were saved in .dds and I used paint.net with a plugin to edit those. I did a quick google and there are plugins for photoshop that lets you read that format. There is a video tutorial but it has loud ass music. Here's a snippet from the comment section

1. Download the plugin here: http://www.instructables.com/file/F32PNWBF11S8SYA/

2. Depends on your version of Photoshop:

2.a. If you're using Photoshop 7 or below: copy the dds.8bi it to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop\Plugins\File Formats

2.b. If you're using Photoshop CS or above: copy the dds.8bi it toC:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS\Required\Plug-Ins\File Formats
