Opinions and Thoughts on First PC Build

Hey guys I'm building my very first gaming PC. This is what I have:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Hmt2f8

The purpose of this build is for playing at 1080p, 60fps, ultra-high settings.

I wanna it to last long for around 5 to 6 years, and this also means

that I don't want to upgrade it during that time.

I'm not gonna play demanding games like The Witcher 3 or Crysis 3

I do prefer first first person shooter rather than MMORPG

Some games that I will use it for are: GTA 5, Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4,

COD Black Ops 3, Dark Souls, War Thunder, COD 4 Remastered ...

Please let me know what do you think and what would you change.

what about cpu cooler? I'm not sure if the 7500 comes with a stock one honestly, but if it doesn't the cooler master hyper 212 evo would be more than enough for your purposes (and pretty darn cheap)

All non K intel cpu comes with a stock cooler

Haswell comes with cooler for all of their cpu including K ones

Skylake and Kaby doesn't have a cooler for K cpu anymore

It comes with one, all locked intel CPUs usually come with their own cooler

stock cooler is included with the 7500, and it's good enough. 212 evo isn't a good cooler, cryorig m9i and raijintek aidos are both cheaper, smaller and performs the same.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

I didn't say it was good I simply recommended something I was familiar with and knew would meet his needs if by chance it didn't have a stock cooler

Your build looks good, I would suggest you change the 2x4 ram sticks to 1 8gb stick. this will make upgrading easier in the future. Also unless you are aiming for specific Nvidia features, I would recommend RX 480 8gb since you say you want it to last for 5 - 6 years. Nvidia has a history of stopping support when a new line comes out whereas AMD cards tend to be supported for a lot longer. Plus right now the RX480 is pretty much equal in DX11 and performs better in DX12; plus it's cheaper.

Ryzen 5 comes out in a week, I would wait and see if you can hold off for a bit longer. If anything, depending on Ryzen 5 performance, the Intel chips might get a small price cut. A build with Ryzen 5 1600 (6cores/12 threads) that, again depending on performance might be better if your hoping for the system to last a few years.

In PCPartPicker, it's set as Ryzen 7 1700 since there is no 5 yet but I manually edited the price to that of Ryzen 5 1600(launch price might be a bit more). right now the build comes up to about $20 more than yours. Leaked benchmarks of the i5 7500 vs Ryzen 5 1400 shows it to performance about the same or better when overclocked. And when games are better optimized for the Ryzen chip, we can probably expect better performance.

But again the last two paragraphs will depend on reviews in a week and how game developers optimize. I would say wait and see.

this build uses honestly identical parts but with ryzen, rx480 and a single 8gb stick instead of 2x4
