What pc parts can I buy used for a budget pc build of $400 or new not including the mouse keyboard and monitor just need CPU, memory, motherboard, gpu, storage, case, power supply

I suggest looking at people like techsource and others who do monthly budget builds. Plenty of them do $400 builds or around there. What I like about these videos is that they built it, explain, and test it in a short time period.

Thanks, a friend is giving me his old gt 740 so I won't need the gpu I was going to use that one until the summer, just a budget pc build that can run bf1 smoothly doesn't have to be at 1080p ultra settings just need an entry level system

with that gt 740 its more like 720p low @ 30fps

A used i7  2600 on eBay is around $150 does that sound legit I see brand new for about $450 on Amazon

maybe 2 or 3 years. Yet it is from 2012/2013 era.

The main problem is the GPU. Skylake Celeron/Pentium would saturate it completely. The CPU is no problem but the GPU is.

He's upgrading the GPU, and I wouldn't recommend X58 for anything in 2017

How come. There is no upgrade path (just like the 1155 path you recommended) and the IPC and preformance is still reasonable for the cost
