Hi, i just downloaded the 3dmark demo via steam, and when i try to launch it windows says that 3dmark gui has crashed. it does this also in force 32 bit and force 64 bit. I have never actually used the program, it did this from first launch attempt. Is this common or does anyone have any ideas, if not i will reinstall i as a last resort. thanks.   btw the laptop i am using it on is the one in my signature.

Have you tried to 'Verify integrity of application cache' ?

If not Right click on 3Dmark in steam - Properties - Local files - Verify integrity of application cache

Thanks, I tried this but no luck, however it's one to remember when troubleshooting other similar problems

search for standalone 3dmark ... there is a fix

you need the latest futuremark systeminfo http://www.futuremark.com/support/systeminfo

I will look into these options when I get some time, but as it stands I am sending my laptop back under warranty for some other issues soon, so I'll give these a try ASAP

If you have AV with active background scan, stop that while using 3Dmark. At least Avast has issues with 3dmark.

I don't currently use avast so no problem there :)

Thanks for all the replies hopefully I will get this sorted...
