Replace Youtube Comments with Reddit

SpamBrie

Great idea, so I have to have a new account rather than using one which is the same account as my gmail, android, calendar, youtube etc. after all so I have it anyway xD. TBH I do some good things with Google+ such as the threaded comments. I hope Google improves this like they do with most things so YT has a great commenting system... then they'd just need to improve the community... good luck with that Google :P.

what? tailoring my browsing? why should i even bother with reddit? blocking what shit? adds? i don't care about adds.

and no i don't support Google+ nor will i do as they want, ill just ignore the whole damn thing, Simple.

and for those few minutes it takes to setup i can spend it on sleeping instead or making some damn good pie.

and i don't feel like having more plugins or apps.

Don´t get me wrong, i´m not against this thing, its good, but i don't care, its that simple, i got better things to do, like commenting here! or browsing the web. and besides people that comment on YouTube is mostly full of ignorant idiots or trolls.

Whats an add?

I've given my brother permission to kill me if I ever join reddit.

Why all the hate on reddit? Barely use it, but why?

Horrible layout, most of the users are pretentious asshats, overuse of memes and upvotes for using them. They took down a childporn subreddit and people freaked out saying it was limiting free speech.

Not to mention the overall userbase is very hostile to people who even slightly disagree with them.

And there are plenty more reasons.

You don't need to care for reddit, its just a better comment system. You don't ever have to visit reddit to get the comments.

Exactly what was wrong with the old WORKING comment system ?

Actually quite a bit but not only that is it could have been a bunch better, just like the rest of youtube.

But replacing it with reddit is not the answer to that problem.

But it's better than the current comment system, imo. Obviously the old youtube comment system is better than them both but there is no plugin for it :/

Reddit is used to house anything and everything on the Internet. All categories possibly. Yes, there is NSFW related items there, but they are completely optional and non-forced. You have to actually LOOK for that kind of thing, they aren't presented to you.

Many people use Reddit because of the categories, such as /r/Gaming, /r/Games, /r/PCGaming, /r/Steam, /r/XboxOne, /r/PS4, etc. etc.

Judging Reddit based on the categories that aren't even publicly listed, is asinine.

Each sub-Reddit is owned individually by different people, the owners of Reddit do not monitor and restrict the site. Honestly, I think you're blowing this completely out of proportion.

Have you even been on the weapons page ?, if you post anything that they disagree with its instantly removed and you get perm ban, How is that not restricted ?, and that's the only site i've been interested about, i am sure that the asshat who runs reddit have other things they instantly remove.

Like I said, the owners of Reddit do not restrict what kind of things that are posted on Reddit, but each sub-Reddit has it's own appointed admins and admin bots that filter things out. Each sub-Reddit is owned differently.

I understand that everyone has different views, and I entirely agree that instant banning you is a joke, but each sub-Reddit has it's own pre-defined rules and if they aren't followed then you can be banned, but again, this isn't Reddit's decision, it's the sub-Reddit's admins and/or bots decision. If you'd like to appeal your ban, you can contact the sub-Reddit's admins by PM'ing them.

To me from my view that just seems very disconnected. I mean yes it costs reddit nothing which is why is probably done. To me that means there isnt really a reddit community but rather a community for each sub-reddit. From using forum for quite some time now this just seems illogical in many ways.

And that is exactly how Reddit works. Each sub-Reddit has its own community and operates as its own community.

There is a standard "Reddiquette" that Reddit advises all sub-Reddits and Redditers to follow, so there is some guidelines, but then each sub-Reddit can have its own ruleset for it's own sub.

Unless you can directly link me the "gunsarecool" page, then I can't see who created it. When I go to www.Reddit.com/r/Gunsarecool it leads me do a "Does not exist" page.
