Disable notifications in win 10

So I have this one thing in windows 10, where it will automatically tell me something "important" like if someone follows me on instagram, if I get an email or something like that. It's like a little dark gray rectangular message above the time and date. I don't want this since it shows during the time i'm playing games.

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti 

Mobo - MSI Z97 Gaming 5

Memory - 32 GB DDR3

Storage - 3.4 TB
