This has been discussed before, it's actually almost impossible to melt a PS4 like that unless you put it under a lighter or open flame.

can i just say, 140°f == 60°c, or in other words, barely enough to warp PLA over time, which is one of the lowest temperature plastics i'm aware of. that amount of heat simply cant do that amount of damage.

Plus it melted in a cool area of the PS4 and melted inwards rather than outwards.

plastic melts in strange directions, but that picture really seems to indicate a large amount of heat in a very concentrated location. my guess would be one of two things:

- they show themselves that the heatpipes arent even anywhere near the area, maybe a cap near the spot went thermonuclear

- maybe the owner of said peasant station put something MUCH hotter next to it, like idunno, a halogen desk lamp maybe? those can do some SERIOUS damage when close by.

as long as i dont see at least hundreds of people reporting this very issue i'm taking it's user error, rather than a fault sony made.

I've had a PS4 Pro long enough, playing a game that can use the hardware, to tell you that it doesn't melt.

Plus you know, people have already called out on its authenticity without any feedback from that OP.
