First budget PC

Tempura

So Guys, I'm trying to build my first budget Gaming PC. Before I buy the parts, I would like to ask you guys if this build is fine or is there some problem with my build.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-6100

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-DS2 LGA 1151 Motherboard

GPU: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini ZT-P10610A-10L 3GB 192 bit GDDR5

RAM: G.Skill black Ripjaws4 288pin DDR4 2400MHz 8GB(8GBx1)

PSU: Corsair VS Series VS550 — 550 Watt Power Supply

I have a very low budget that's why i chose i3-6100 for my CPU.

I saw some videos that i3-6100 and the zotac gtx 1060 mini runs well on some games with high graphic settings, and i'm also aware of the bottlenecks on some cpu-intensive games.

Any Recommendations ? :D

This build is pretty solid, as far as budget builds are concerned. I don't really see any glaring issues, though I do recommend an SSD.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

I would pick up Pentium G4560 and throw that money to upgrade to 1060 6GB or RX 480 8 GB

get a G4560, performance is only very slightly worse but much cheaper.

get the RX 480/70 instead of the gtx 1060 3gb.

get a better PSU, the VS isn't good. a seasonic s12ii or cx450m would be better.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Yeah,  I agree with frozeNNN . You can save like 40$ by going with the pentium g4560  Thi i3 and pentium perform pretty much the same. Thow In a 120 GIg SSD in there and you should be good to go. Also , I would recommend getting RX 480 4 GB instead of 1060 3gb , almost same price

Get the G4560 pentium, a 1060 6GB and a better power supply (CXM, CS, or heck even the CX or 500B will do better than this PSU).

EVGA 80+ non bronze units aren't that great as well. The 450W CXM for 4.4 more USD is a better buy.

yea probably, its just my go to as i have built around 5 computers for friends with them and they have been fine. its just from experience. but the one i put in the build is the bronze version anyway.

Thank for the great reply guys.. I'm considering buying RX 480 or a gtx 1060 6gb instead of gtx 1060 3gb. And i will buy the G4560 after searching for a while, it is cheaper and almost thesame as the 6100..  I am also not sure for my choice of PSU and thank you for pointing that out. I don't want to go all my money to waste. Thank you for all the suggestions.

There is a Tier List in the Power Supply sub-forum.

Try and get a Tier 3 and up

Good options that have been mentioned prior are a Seasonic M12ii (Modular) or Seasonic S12ii (Semi-Modular), or Corsair CX450M.

You don't wanna cheap out on the PSU, it's the 1 part that is crucial for systems.

Current System Specs:

CPU: Intel I5-7660K; CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212X; Thermal Paste: IC Diamond 7 Carat; Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon;

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8gb) DDR4 - 2400; SSD Storage: 1TB Samsung 850 EVO; Storage: 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm;

GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 8gb G1 Gaming; Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Black; PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 650W 80+ Gold, OS: Windows 10 Home
