Hello,

I'm rather new here so i don't know if this is where i should post my questions but here it goes :)

I've recently started having random problems with my laptop ( taking way too long to boot [ 2-5 minutes] ) & once it boots the time & date are restored to the day the laptop was purchased.

Anyhow since i can't solve whats causing my issues with the laptop [ Tried changing the CMOS battery the issue still remains ], my question is the following :

Since the laptop is using a Intel Core i3 380M, is there any way to attach that CPU to a desktop motherboard & which one would i have to buy/use :) Also would it be worth doing that both time consuming & would it cost me hella lot

Thanks in advance :)

Have you tried resetting CMOS and making sure the battery is FIRMLY in place?

And it's possible, your laptop is maybe socketed so you can remove the processor, but it's not worth it, barely touches a modern desktop CPU and the desktop CPU would be cheaper tbh

idk

The CPU from the laptop can be removed, as for the battery i've removed it & refitted it twice untill now & the issue remained xD

Before other people answer your questions. I'm going to go full on  nub style. Run a full antivirus scan. Open task bar go to startup and click disable on all that say enabled. This may help a little.

Not sure if it count's but it does  the same thing even on a clean win 8.1 installed on it....

What i recently tried to do is to install a 2nd stick of DIMM DDR3 4GB stick to the additional one installed. However i bought the wrong stick...... Seems that the laptop is running on 1333MHz & i bought a 1600..

Have you set the time in the BIOS? if not it's probably defaulting your windows OS to that time every time you boot up.

Check to make sure Windows is set correctly with regards to date and time, and ensure you have the right time zone.
